Message I bought a full Tuner D seat cover set including the trim kit for my 1990 TT and this weekend I got around to tearing out the old. I must say there are a million bolts holding that damn interior together. I found a couple of things note -worthy while tearing it down. Also have a couple questions...

I should also note I have a 1993 2+2 also and came up with a couple differences that I noticed and figured I would ask the all knowing tt.net:

On my na 2+2, there was one bolt in the center console underneath the center console lid or cover holding the console down to the floor which was visible with the naked eye as soon as you remove the lid for the center console.. In my TT this weekend, there was 3 of them and they were covered, hidden underneath the cloth in the center console.
Is that how the tt's came from the factory (diff between tt and na)or is it a variable depending upon the year(ie-diff between 1990 and 1993 and up?? I was looking for the bolts to pull the console up and was like wtf? No bolts? I remembered my na and figured I would feel around and there they were. 3 of them underneath the material on the bottom of the console covered up. I stuck my philips head through the material so I could get the bolts and was kindof like "this had to be redone." It looked like it was done from the factory though and I just didnt know they would cover them like that. Is that how they were done from the factory?

Also, When I removed the seats and rear covers that wrap around the back of the seat, I noticed a plastic clear storage type container with 4 black plastic suction cup like pieces directly behind the drivers seat wrapped in bubble wrap and in the clear plastic storage container. Are they oem equip and what the hell are they for? Taking out the t tops or something?

Lastly, I printed out an interior kit write up in search by Pure Evil on all the bolts that are necessary to remove for the interior kit and found a minor discrepancy: The bolt which holds the door panels on the opposite side of the door glass(outside of the window) with the black plastic round cover, was not a philips head screw going from the outside through the door, it was the opposite way and was underneath the seat belt mechanism that attaches to the door. It also came through the door from the interior out, not the other way around like Pure Evil noted.
When I saw the pics of the screw and then the setup on my 90, It was def. different. You must take the seat belt bolt and plastic cover that is attached to the door off and then the panel will come off. Just a minor detail but def different depending upon either year of the Z or tt/na.

Thx and sorry for the long winded post. Cant wait to see my interior in all black leather and perfect!!!! I will post pics when done. Anyone with info please respond. PEACE
